We had booked a private room with private bathroom, like was on the pictures. Reality is completely different. There is not glass protection for shower, just curtains. After shower water was out of bathroom to the room. Water in shower was warm, not hot. Floor wasn't clean at all. Dirt, dead flies and hair around. Heating was ON by request. No WiFi connection in the room. Couldn't sleep night because strong smell off humidity...
Lovely pension in Salceda with beautifully renovated rooms, friendly receptionist. No food but dry ready meals, snacks and wine and beer available for sale - small shared kitchenette with fridge, microwave and small kettle. Only thing - bring earplugs! There was little soundproofing and sound travelled quite a long way so we were woken up during the night from noises from the surrounding rooms. other than that a lovely stay!
Highly recommended. Wonderful albergue, “nearly perfect” - it is spotlessly clean, wonderful, friendly staff, clean facilities, normal shower (WINNING!!!) kitchen, lots of areas and space to relax and socialise with other pilgrims at the end of the day. Only “nearly perfect” because there are no power points located at the beds in the shared accommodation - so if you need a CPAP machine to sleep, speak to the hospitalero to arrange an extension cable.
Fantastic albergue! Looks wonderful, all necessities provided, staff helpful and friendly. Shower are especially good in this places. I honestly recommend.
