rooms are very nice! Food for dinner was good. breakfast was the worst we got on the whole Camino. one croissant and a slice of bread for each wirh jam and butter. coffe is out od a big jug!
The food! Oh my goodness! The food! We stayed here while walking the Camino and dinner was fantastic. I am vegan and it has been so hard to find good food but this place killed it!
Loving our stay here now. Reception was smooth and friendly esp for two tired pilgrims. Room is fantastic, bed comfy, bath clean and spacious, shower hot and relaxing (just need to wave your hands since lights are motion activated). Attentive and kind service at resto, and food (presentation and taste) top notch. Peaceful place away from the busy areas of the Camino, approaching SDC. Highly recommended.
Booked by Orbis (Santiago) Ways as part of our route along the Camino. We were given a room which upon entering was a semi-basement that smelled strongly of Marijuana. The room was dimly lit however we opened the window and put the air con on in hope of clearing the room of the smell. As it didn’t really clear we went to reception in the hope that an alternative room might be found, the lady was extremely rude and repeatedly said that it did not smell yesterday and insinuated that it must be us. She came with us to the room and suggested it must have drifted in from upstairs or outside as nobody had occupied the room the day before with no offer to move rooms made and we went to the cafe to see if we could book a new hotel. The woman from reception then went over to the other staff who then were clearly laughing at us. A male member of staff emerged and in front of other guests declared that “Bob Marley slept in our room the previous night”, which we did not find funny and was quite upsetting. The receptionist continued eating her meal with other staff and when finished, came over to us speaking in Spanish, we politely said that we did not understand and she replied in clear English “well I do not understand English” and stormed off. After a short while she came back and gave us another room key and asked us if that was “alright”. The new room was perfectly acceptable even though it was smaller than the first. Had we been offered the new room after the initial complaint, this would have been perfectly acceptable however the behaviour of the staff was totally unacceptable and upsetting. It is an incident like this that spoils a wonderful journey on the Camino and lets down Orbis ways. We cannot recommend staying at this establishment and please take heed of previous reviews about the behaviour of the staff and their nasty replies to any negative feedback. I would never have believed other reviews until we experienced this for ourselves.
The old lady took her time walking around as Pilgrims were waiting to check-in. She saw us but just kept walking by and didn't even acknowledged our presence. When she finally decided to go back to being the receptionist, she only asked for passports then told people which rooms they have. People had to ask for the wifi and breakfast info. Located away from the Camino route and no other restaurants or other services nearby. I wouldn't want to stay here if I were to do my own planning. This place may only get customers through the travel agencies.
