Nice place to stay in tiny village of Airexe. As this is not a main hub the trail is not busy in the morning which was nice. Absolutely lovely lady running it. Room was clean, well appointed with a wash basin and good heating. Double bed was small but we were told before. Clean spacious shared bathroom. No catering or lounge but Restaurante Ligonde is across the road (food from 6.30pm). I would have scored 5 stars if not for the fact that the shower was not very hot and the wifi signal was too weak to use. Good value at 35 euros (cash only). Booked by Email.
Pros: VERY nice lady at front desk. Room (double) was clean. Outdoor picnic area. Cons: No food on site - though there is a cafe 1/4 mile down the road (fine if you are not tired and the weather is good :-)). Very small closet/room/shower. No chair or luggage rack. There us not really any place to hang out and relax after a hard day on the Camino, just a few simple hard chairs in the lobby. Watch for aggressive geese in the neighboring yard!
It is in Eirexe, a very quiet small town, the lady who runs the pension is super kind and friendly. Everything is very clean, and the truth is that at night there is no noise at all, a good place to disconnect, it is one of the passing towns on the Camino de Santiago so it is not actually overcrowded with pilgrims although the path is 50 meters away, Also in front is the only restaurant in the town. There is a clothesline behind where you can hang your clothes, for €5 the lady was in charge of washing them in the washing machine and hanging them up.
The owner is really warm and kind. The hot water came out very well, which was a great help in relieving my fatigue. Communal soap is provided. There is a washing machine and dryer, and there is a large outdoor space for hanging laundry, so there is no need to run the dryer. Clothes dry very quickly when dried in bright sunlight. There are no stores around and there is only one restaurant. It is a good idea to purchase fruits, snacks, water, etc. in advance before arrival.
I highly recommend stopping in this town to spend the night, even if it is not the "typical" one on the Camino. The first thing to highlight, the attention from Cruz has been unbeatable... thank you for that. We leave with a very nice memory from here. The rooms are very comfortable, you can rest very well and the town is very quiet and very pleasant to disconnect from the typical stop where everyone goes. We have washed the clothes and been able to hang them on a clothesline without any problem. Thanks for everything, really!
