Great service - both hostesses were fantastic! A great place after hiking up all the elevation of O'cebrerio and onwards and upwards to Alto do Poio. A good dinner and rooms. Bathroom had a bit of a smell to it, but that was insignificant to us.
First of all the rooms were clean, food OK ish . It looked as if it was refurbished in 1972..but very good value for money. The big downside was the woman the greeted me...If I had not pre paid or had a car I would have left. I think she was one of two sisters...the other was the cheerful one. Could I suggest the woman who greeted me goes on part one of the how to treat a customer. ..smile and say hello...not grunt and demand (not ask) for passport etc . Also they wanted proof of booking..you have payment, you have my passport, you have the name I booked in ..what more do you want. I suspect 90% of customers are pilgrims..they do not carry loads of paperwork or want to look through old e mails. ..tragedy of it is the rest of the staff were delightful. I am not the first person to raise this ...it matters..get a grip and retrain .
It was a pleasure to stay here after a long day on the Camino. We called ahead to reserve a room and the owner turned the radiator on to ensure our room was warm for us…he even greeted us outside as we approached the village. Our food was fantastic; all local cuisine and he made an excellent vegetarian plate, as well. The owner was so welcoming and warm! I highly recommend this stop for a true hospitable stay.
Only if you have to stay here. It's not clean. It's very cold in the room, dark and unfriendly. The youngish woman at the bar/reception is not friendly or helpful. She was way more interested in her phone than us. Wifi didn't work in the room.We ate across the street, very friendly there. The shower was nice and hot. Beds are hard. Unfortunately our window opened up to a hallway and the only curtain was open lace and see through! Very strange.
What a wonderful place to stay after a day of walking the Camino de Santiago. Or just to have a drink or coffee. The staff was amazing, always smiling and making sure you're having a good time. I forgot to take pics of the bedroom, however, the sheets, towels, and bathroom were clean and spotless. I'd recommend for anyone who wants to interact with locals, eat and drink well, and sleep.
