5 / 5 My stay at Albergue Rosalie in Castrojeriz was awesome! I did need to pay attention on the stairs, but the beds had real sheets, there are paper towels in the bathrooms-two details that make a great difference when I’m changing places so often. Javier was particularly helpful and I know he’ll be blessed with full albergues with this kind of service! Muchas, Muchas gracias!
5 / 5 Rooms were all bottom bunks, we had the entire attic to ourselves. The pilgrim meal was lovely and prepared with care. AC! Great place to hang washing in the sun and right at the end of Casteojeriz, so quick out in the AM. Perfect little Albergue.
3 / 5 It’s a cool place with low beds and a nice atmosphere. Position is central but a bit expensive.
Bad points: number of bathrooms is too low for the number of people, minuscules space for drying clothes - not enough. Breakfast is a way too poor for the price paid: poor quality industrial muffins, coffee, industrial orange juice.
Dinner was okay (please don’t do that kind of overcooked pasta “vegetarian paella style”, you can do better than that).
Overall is a good place to stop and good experience but I believe there is better around.
5 / 5 Very nice albergue in Castrojeriz. Highly recommend it.
The host is welcoming, the whole atmosphere is warm. The place is kept clean, beds are great (no bunk beds) with fresh cotton linen.
The lady made us a nice dinner, hummus, pasta salad, grilled chicken, chocolate icecream and wine.
There is an option of an early breakfast that is prepared and served since 5am, this has been amazing, since I was an early starter.
Overall, nice albergue, and if you are in Castrojeriz, I highly recommend it.
1 / 5 Bedbugs on July 11, 2024. The staff denied that they were bedbugs and were mean about it. They showed me pictures of a completely different bug on their phone saying this was the bug, it was like saying the sky is red. I showed them actual bugs and they grabbed them and tossed them on the floor immediately and said don’t worry. I think they knew they were bedbugs.
The guy running the place got in my face and asked "What is your job?! What is your job?!" And said I couldn't possibly know what a bedbug looks like because my job doesn't involve them like his does.
I asked for a refund so I could go to a different place, and they said no.
I put pictures on multiple Internet forums and every single response said yes those are bedbugs.
