Albergue Parroquial Apostol Santiago

Another update: No bed bugs! 20 people stayed here last night, and no issues. I see they used diatomaceous earth on bed cracks to prevent them. So don’t worry. I had a great experience here. It was actually one of my most memorable donativos because the Spanish volunteers were so friendly. Despite the apps saying there’s no dinner, they made a marvelous spaghetti dinner with endless sangria! The building is a bit older, but it’s all apart of the donativo experience. They even have 2 partitioned rooms each with 2 bunks that they gave to the couples. Super nice!

Albergue that is actually a true donativo, which means you give whatever amount you wish. I had there one of the best meals I’ve had since being on the Camino. Carlos and the man from Bautzen are truly dedicated to giving pilgrims a wonderful experience — it’s really impressive. There’s also a small shelf where you can leave or take a book, and tea and coffee are available. I can only sincerely recommend this place; it’s one of the best stops I’ve had thanks to them.

An albergue parroquial run by all-volunteer hosts. Donation requested, please give as much as you can. There is a communal dinner at night, and plenty of clean bunk beds divided into reasonably sized rooms.

An update from May 2025: The bed bug situation seems to be resolved :) I was hesitant when arriving but not me nor any other guest had bed bugs (the hostel was full). You need to leave your backpack downstairs and not bring it to the room to avoid carrying bed bugs over, but that's only a minor inconvenience and is reasonable given the issues they had before. A lovely community dinner and breakfast are provided. There is a washing machine for 3 euros too. Really lovely hospitalera, I recommend staying there!
