Albergue Casa Chelo Foncebadon

Zero stars. As seen in other reviews, the staff expect you there by 2pm. I have never experienced this on the Camino. I messaged her and said I was going to be there later, but likely by 5. I am sick so my walk was slow, I also am not in a rush on this Camino. I walk up to the hostel at 4:45. I run into friends and we chat sharing some wine. I go in at 5:05 and Susanna (?spelling) informed me that my tardiness was disrespectful so she gave away my bed (nobody came in before or after me). I tried to apologize and hash things out, but she lacked compassion & did not allow any space to converse about the situation. The only donativo albergue open was completely full, however the kind man let me sleep on a mat on the floor. I truly hope the owners of this albergue treat others with a more compassionate pelegrino welcome than what I experienced.

The people saying anything bad about this host have clearly never stayed here. I have never felt so welcome in my life upon entering this alburgue . Service and food were top notch and the lady running this place is a gem along the way.

First of all, if you looking at Camino Ninja App. Casa Rural Chelo HAS CHANGED TO Albergue Casa Chelo. The in charge is an gentleman. No longer the lady anymore. The picture that I attached is Casa Rural Chelo which is a Private Property NOW as of May, 2024. I have email Ninja App to remove the wrong picture that is in the App. Because I went into the house. The lock was open, then inner design, furniture was exactly like the picture. So I say Hello, anybody? Then a lady who was scared, and run down from 2nd level, while running down the stairs she grab something and shouting at me in Spanish which I don't understand but based on her reaction I know I was in the wrong house but I was not aware and I was freak out too!!! She chased me out of the house, yelling and shouting at me at the same times in Spanish, and then I asked if she speak English, she then said yes. Said that is this is illegal to enter a private property. She never gave me a chance to explain but I immediately apologise to her that I enter her house if as she said is a private property. She also do not want to say anything anymore but asked me to leave. So, I leave and I texted the bag delivery guy and then I realised my bag was delivered at this Albergue Casa Chelo. Then I spoke to the in charge and realised that this was not the first time someone like me encounter such case because the lady used to rent the Albergue can run by herself, which I can see from below review. Now I know why she reacted that way and I am laughing now bcos it is so dramatic and funny. She run down from 2nd level like devil in the exorcist movie I watched in Hollywood. I swear to God luckily she is not holding a knife. If not I will kung fu kick her. Anyway, I understand now that I enter a private property ONLY I find out later. I also emailed Ninja App to remove the picture immediately to avoid she become another devil from exorcist movie. After all, Albergue Casa Chelo is a good place to stay.

Open in winter season~! (March 9 2024) Can drink coffee and have food during walking as well. Simple and delicious breakfast(5 euro) 😀😀😀 Pizza is available in pizzeria in front of this albergue from 1pm. Thank you for hospitality during snowy and mucho frio day walking!!!!🥶

Honestly the woman here is rude and belligerent. She lies to guests about availability and changes costs depending on how many come in a group and age. She let 4 men in, but saying they would have to pay for the more expensive rooms because of availability, then told my friend there were absolutely no rooms available, then let me have a single bed after. I think she is dishonest and started yelling at my friend when she asked again about the accommodation. Horrible experience and unkind service
