This is the first stop to have a cup of coffee after Portomarin and it's not a good one. Hard bread, super fat over fried eggs, FRIED fat hamon, bad coffee. Yes it's cheap but it could be cooked 10 times better with those same ingredients. It's disappointing.
Have you ever had a pilgrims meal and were like "well, what do I expect for the price." Nothing like that here. For 14 euro I had a proper drink, one full plate of pasta Bolognese and half a cow with fries. There was so much food, I almost refused to have dessert. I'm not sure if I need another meal until I arrive in Santiago de Compostela. Even if you don't stay in Gonzar, it's worth rewinding here.
Albergue, each room has 10 beds, very clean, it has washine machine and dryer, but you can wash by hand, do not separate restroom by gender, is the only inconviniece that I found.
The food was quite good although a lot was already gone so you could only order like 6 to 7 things. I still enjoyed it and there are also stamps.
Don't expect food for lunch. Showed up at 12:30 & kitchen was closed-drinks & crisps/candy only.
