Lovely albergue but a bit too strict on the « rules » The volunteers stay for a week at a time so it has a bit of an unsettled feeling. There were also more volunteers than pilgrims and to be honest it almost felt like we were imposing on their holiday. The access to the volunteer bedroom is through the pilgrim bedroom which slightly makes it feel like you’re sleeping in a corridor and kept us awake quite late… Despite all this, they were very sweet and made an effort to make us feel welcome
Met the family volunteers from Barcelona and they are very warmly and kind, help to serve everyone walking inside. Welcome drinks, dinner and breakfast all are donations. Highly recommended to stay here for Camino.
The kind and good hearted people of La Fuerte took me in like family and made me feel at home. They cleaned all of my clothes and made me dinner and prepared breakfast for me. They reminded me the magic of doing good without expecting anything in return. This place was a great break of peace of mind on the hard walk that is the Camino de Santiago.
