Albergue Linar do Rei

Loved the location, the view. The rooms and showers were good. And I was very lucky to be able to wash my clothes with cold mountain water. One of our group members prepared dinner for us in the kitchen, and we ate together in the Community Room. View from the Community Room is excellent!!!

First of all it is cheap but not the best place to stay this time of the year as it is a very small town with nowhere to dine-in. However, the rooms are clean, the shower rooms are small and a coffee vending machine works. Be sure you have some food supplies with you as there is a kitchen. There is a small grocery where you can buy food and they can only prepare cold sandwiches.

Saw a bedbug on the wall this morning! Called them to let them know, but they hung up.

We were so happy we chose to stop here last night on our camino walk and stay in a private double room. The place is shiny and clean and very comfortable. The room was warm (hard to find this time of year!) and had everything we needed. We bought food from the little tienda across the street and cooked dinner in the kitchen. Highly recommended. The private albergue in O cebreiro was full, so the next best albergue we booked was Linar do Rei in Linares, the next town. I chose it because I liked the Google rating. I came to Albergue Linar do Rei as planned today and it was a beautiful accommodation that I really liked. In a newly built building that has not been operated for a while, the staff does their best to manage the rooms and keep them clean. At 12 euros per night, it is the best value for money. Because it is 1,200 meters high, the surrounding scenery is beautiful. Kitchen facilities are also clean. All pilgrims who visit this place cook lunch and dinner, so you can save money. Don't insist on O cebreiro, I recommend staying in Linar do Rei.
