Albergue Santiago Apostol

Only come here for a bed and there’s no other options, minimalist would be the polite term. Otherwise it is extremely dirty and badly maintained with bad facilities. There’s almost no administration or staff monitoring anything. Shower heads were broken with mold on the curtains. Sinks were not clean. No outlets to be found anywhere but in the bathroom.

It’s no Alberque, just a regular hostel with a greedy attitude. Me and my friend are pilgrims who were looking for a place to sleep for one night. The weather was terrible and we hoped to find at least a piece of the floor (we had matteraces and sleeping bags with us). They told us that they are full. Yes, they were. Full of drunk Spanish guys who came for the fiesta in Logroño.

I don't understand the level of greed that pushes a busy hostel to cram 22 beds in one room. Only disposable paper bedsheets supplied. Less than one meter separates the bunks - now fill that space with belongings, the full volume talking from 6am, and you're left with an infernal battery chicken experience I wouldn't repeat with a gun to my head.

I stayed at Albergue Santiago Apostol during my pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The hostel offers good service and accommodates a large number of guests with many bunks per room, making it affordable for all types of pilgrims. However, the communal bathrooms could benefit from better cleaning given the high number of guests. The breakfast was decent and the location reasonable. Overall, it's a suitable choice for pilgrims looking for budget-friendly accommodations.

Great location and service. Private room was very crowded and mattresses/pillows not clean.
