Gross. Disgusting. I waited until I was safely away to write a review because I feared for my life. If you want a scary hotel experience while walking the Camino, this is your place. If it is booked for you through a third party, ask, beg, plead for another place. The bus station is a better option. The bedding is dirty. Beds are uncomfortable. I had bed bug spray and sprayed everything down. I smelled poop when I left my room in the morning to check out. Don’t know what it’s from or what animal. Just because it’s old with old furniture means it needs to be dirty and gross with rude hoteliers. I have been at numerous places on the Camino where the facilities are old. But it’s clean, safe, hygienic, and doesn’t smell like poop.
day 26 may 20th check in a little difficult but that is the norm when you don't speak spainish some times old style nothing been changed in 20-30 years but clean and comfy had the pilgrim dinner host was good along with the meal a little high on the price
Attn. Pilgrims: The rooms have bathtubs and it is right on the Camino. The negative reviews almost scared me away, but I am glad they didn't. The rooms aren't fancy, but mine was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And the innkeepers were perfectly pleasant.
Peregrinos, don’t stay there even if it’s the only place available. Push on! A cluttered mess, downright dirty, with the worst service I experienced walking 3 Caminos. The owners could care less, and it shows the minute you open the door. I spent less for an excellent pension with super service at the corner of the cathedral in Leon.
I advise people NOT to stay in Casa Rural El Puente in Mansilla de las Mulas in Spain. The place is a mess, which includes everything, from the owner's attitude, cleanliness of the place and manners. The owner, Mina, knocked on our door at 10 pm, when we were already in bed, to ask us to pay for the room, because "they don't start working until 9 am" and we wanted to leave earlier than that! Why didn't they ask us to pay when we checked in?. The headboards of the beds ate not secured to the wall and fell on us several times at night. The patio is in great disarray, everyting they don't use anymore, they just pile up in the patio (I have pictures to prove it). The attitude of the owners is very rude. They don't have the concept of serving their customers. This is the worst hotel I've in in my 50 years of traveling the world!!!
