The owner Alberto was really welcoming, helpful and couldn’t have been friendlier. The apartment is great. Clean, spacious, great location, well serviced and quiet. The shower was a particular joy on our Camino Muchos gracias
I booked an apartment for a few days, and it was crawling with bedbugs. When I mentioned this to the owner, his response was, "This is the first I've heard of it," and then he said, "I don't have anywhere else to put you... they must have come in some pilgrim's backpack." I told him I wasn't going to stay due to the situation (bedbugs all over the place), and he refunded me some of my money.
The worst thing you can find on vacation. BED BUGS IN YOUR BED. Disgusting!!!! We checked in on Friday, August 9th, and discovered them around 4 AM. Two hours killing bugs, a night of terror. The next day, the 10th, I called Alberto, the manager, and he swore it was the first time. I believed him; I have no reason to doubt him, right? Today I saw a review on Booking.com from the 10th that already warned about the bugs... I hadn't seen it, otherwise... My experience was awful. I will never go back to that place. I will return to Mellid, of course; my family is from there, and I've spent every summer there for over 30 years. As for Boa Vista, I'm sorry, but no. A very, very, very bad experience.
Bed bugs in the bed, the most disgusting thing that could have happened to me, it was infested. Unstoppable heat and a noise from the street that made it impossible to open the door, a total disaster.
Bedbugs are quite prevalent...and it's the pilgrims' fault, that's their response...
