Room is super cold, no heating, or blankets available. Water in the shower is also not the temperature you want after a rainy day on the Camino.
This was a nice Albergue. Our check-in was quick and professional. Located right in the center of a main road and in a great building. My only complaint is the noise level and a lot of people. We were situated in such a way that we heard everything in the kitchen (which was great to cook your own dinner). Overall a nice experience it's just that I was spoiled on the camino by staying in quaint and tiny Albergues. This particular one had more volume but the diversity was nice.
I was most greatful for the option to overnight in a smaller clean room that accommodated only four unlike nights before of mass submarine style. I liked the historic architecture of the building and how well is was preserved; social dining room area with cutlery, crockery and appliances available. Enough showers and bathrooms although busy in the time that I was there. Forget about getting your hand washing dry here (naturally) as lines are rigged inside. I loved sitting on the balcony watching Melide life go by. Ideally located on the El Camino route for the next morning, close to restaurants, smaller street cafes and a supermarket
Very dissapointed in everything I have experienced so far. After 30 days on the Camino we find out Melide is having their fiesta. Book this hostel only to find out at check in that we have an 11pm curfew, due to the owner being tired. By the stage it's too late change hostel. Then I got to shower only to discover their is absolutely no privacy. You have to shower with strangers where the toilets are also located. When you try speak to the reception/owners you get disregarded. Do not stay here.
Quite good. Beds and blankets good. Hot shower. Big open space downstairs and comfy seats. Quite. WiFi is fast. Central location. Oh and go to the Brooklyn grillburger and kabab to get the best food on the Camino. It's only 5 mins walk away. Seriously BEST food on the Camino.
