1 / 5 No heating or quilts provided - it's freezing! You can pay for extra blankets, but the basic setup is very cold. There's no kitchen available for guests, though paid breakfast and dinner are offered. The toilet and shower are located out in the courtyard, The toilet and shower are located in the outdoor courtyard, which is a real pain if you need to use the restroom at night. The place is in an extremely remote village. Think twice before booking unless you're a well-equipped pilgrim!
5 / 5 I really enjoyed my stay here. While the facilities are separate from the rooms, it presented no problem. The highlight was the pilgrims meal that was freshly prepared and presented with typical Italian pride.
2 / 5 I stayed here while on the Camino. I paid 14€ for a bed in a shared room. The hosts are very friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The showers were not hot when I was there - perhaps they were earlier in the afternoon, but other guests also complained of the cold showers. There is an outdoor space to handwash laundry that is convenient. They also offer washer/dryer for an additional fee. As there are few dining options in this small town, they offer dinner for 14€ and breakfast for 4€. The pasta was very good (of course, as the hosts are Italian), but the main left much to be desired - a thin slice of meat with a little bit of salad.
I was in the upstairs room. This room had no bunk beds, which was its only plus. There was no heating here and it was a chilly night. I wore double layers and slept under my own sheet set, down blanket, and their thin blanket for warmth. The mattresses are thin and uncomfortable. There are no bathrooms upstairs; so, if you need the loo in the middle of the night you have to go downstairs outside (in the rain that night) to get to the ground floor bathroom.
I later found out that another guest asked for an extra blanket and was told she would have to pay for another bed just to get a blanket...
This hostel is somewhat functional, certainly at its price point, but you get what you pay for.
1 / 5 1. If you don't have SLEEPING BAG (with tolerance of 5 degree), DO NOT book here. There's no heater and no blanket in the dormitory.
2. However, if you have money to stay in private room, you get BOTH blanket and heater that would keep you HOT and sweaty.
3. Nice balcony to enjoy the afternoon. That is highly recommended.
5 / 5 This is an albergue, the Spanish name for a hostel, so it's a basic shelter with simple but comfortable tatami-like beds a in large dormitory. I seem to have glimpsed another dormitory with bunk beds as well. The individual space is limited and the bathrooms are shared. This said, all is clean and the other guests are pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago, so everyone is just seeking to rest and then go ahead, and there isn't any problem. There is also the possibility to wash one's clothes, either by hand or with a washing machine. They also have a nice garden, where to rest and maybe sunbathing in the afternoon or the evening. The reception is very friendly, the hosts are an Italian couple, and even the rest of the personnel are Italian volunteersj. The overall organization is good. Dinner and breakfast are both available within the albergue, and they are both very recommended, as there are no alternatives in town, but also because of the food quality and the friendliness of the community dinner, that is also an occasion to make friends and have some funny time in the evening.
