Great place to stay in O Cebreiro as a Pilgrim on the way to Santiago de Compostela! Really cheap, great facilities, semi equipped kitchen, amazing location, great showers and comfortable beds.
Comfortable beds but entire place stinks like sewerage. Bathrooms dirty and no doors on showers. Stay elsewhere if possible, but passable at a stretch if no other option.
DON'T GO All my money was robed iny bag during the night and I'm not the only one. Food has also been stolen. Local guy told me this happened also two and four weeks ago. An other pilgrim who already did the Camino numerous times told me this also happened on the past. Shoes and treking poles had already been stolen. Yet, doors remained unlocked at night and of course, nobody will tell you at the front office that theft occured recently and to he carefull. And no cameras .... Go somewhere else.
I recommend the dorms on the 1st floor. Ground floor dorm is not suitable for people with allergies due to mold/black mushroom on the ceiling. Some smell of the mold in the basement where howers and loundry are located. Otherwise, very clean and well maintained. Lovely rceptionist. When I explained that I have to move dorms, there was no issue. I had the bed upstairs, next to the window and it was free from mold, so no issue for one night. Beautiful place and very respectful pilgrims. I would stay again, but the municipality should take care of the mold issue.
This alvergue is mostly fine. It does the job and there's a functional kitchen. It does lose a a bit because they have the sinks right beside the sockets and cables for the washers and dryers which just seems dangerous.
