Bed bugs, dirty bed, blood stains everywhere…horrible experience. Beware.
I was in the Frade hostel, double room with shared bathroom. The truth is I was afraid when reading the other reviews, in my case everything was fine, the room, the sheets and towels were clean, the bathroom was shared but very good, clean, with gel and shampoo, I didn't see any insects or anything out of place. place. The welcoming owner explained everything we needed to know. To put it another way, it was a bit cold in the rooms (the weather was very bad outside, rain, wind and cold) but we slept warm thanks to the blankets.
August 26, 2024. Dirty towels, dirty bed sheets and bedspread, bathroom floor full of hair, sticky with dirt and insects, total lack of comfort and non-existent maintenance. In short, a disaster and very unpleasant….. Notice to sailors for those looking for accommodation to rest in this beautiful town.
Charming, both the owner Irene and the “Professor”, asking about the latter has a wisdom and stories that are a pleasure to listen to. He gave us a Laurel that we carried in our backpack to Santiago. 💕We had a chat with them and they are very nice.
First of all, there are too many bugs I came here because there really wasn't any accommodation on the mountain. The price was expensive and they didn't clean it properly. I only caught 3 bugs crawling on the floor in the room and ants with wings kept falling from the ceiling. This is the accommodation that was sprayed with the most biokill pesticides. I almost regret going to the albergue instead. In this price range, it is in the worst condition among the accommodations on the Camino Road. I thought bed bugs would come out, so I sprayed a lot of insecticide and went to bed. Even in the mountains, it's a bit harsh.
