We stayed at Auberge Borda on our first day walking the French Way and it was the best decision ever. I rented a private room and everything was delightful. We had our fireplace and bathroom and the food was delicious. The host was incredibly helpful and kind. He made my daughter’s birthday in the mountains extremely special.

One of the best hostels on the entire Camino. Laurent, the operator, is incredibly welcoming. You really feel welcome. He has created a small oasis of well-being for pilgrims here. Everything is lovingly and thoughtfully furnished and tailored precisely to the needs of the pilgrims. Here we know what pilgrims really need. You can tell that Laurent not only wants to make money from the pilgrims, but also cares about their well-being. The food was fantastic. I can really recommend everyone to get a bed here on their way over the Pyrenees. It's worth it!!!

This was a fantastic place to stay, I am sure it will be one of the truly memorable days of our Camino. We met some great people at the Pilgrim dinner, and enjoyed an amazing service. The food at dinner was exceptional. Breakfast was great. it was a nice treat to have our laundry done since we got soaking wet on the walk up. Truly exceptional.

Laurent was fabulous! He is serious about making your stay the best that it can be. He makes sure everyone gets to know each other and by the end of dinner we were all like old friends. The food was delicious. He made sure he had some things I could eat (dairy allergy) and he gave us helpful tips for our walk the next day. He will even do your laundry for 5 Euros. (Or less if you share a load). The location is absolutely beautiful and it was a fantastic idea to break up the walk over the Pyrenees into two days. The sleeping arrangements are as good as it gets for a shared room. No top bunks and every bed has a curtain for privacy and a little basket to put your phone or an eye mask or something light. Thanks for everything, Laurent!!

Stay here!!! Yes you have to share a bathroom but this was our favorite place of the trip. They do a lovely job of creating a sense of community and we got to know everyone staying the night at the Sheppard dinner. Over the next weeks we keep seeing these people in various cities and on the trail. It was so special! Comfy beds, unreal sunrise and serene setting!
