5 / 5 Auberge Borda is so beautiful. I was lucky enough to book the private room and not only had an incredible view but an amazing nights sleep. The room was very large with a big bathroom and a warm and intimate decor...I could have stayed for days!!
The greeting was informative and fun and set the tone for the all guests stay.
A beautiful meal and joyful conversation became the start of friendships and Camino family. I will forever remember my stay.
If you are walking the Frances from SJPP, I with no hesitation recommend this beautiful auberge.
5 / 5 I had heard that this albergue was an excellent choice to break up the first day of the Camino Frances so when the opportunity to reserve a bed became available I jumped on it. I was not disappointed! My stay was wonderful, I was exhausted after walking for 6 hours in the rain and when I arrived, Mikel welcomed me literally with open arms. Clothes were washed, and I was able to take a welcome shower. The community spirit before, during and after dinner by other pilgrims and our host Mikel saved my camino as I was about ready to give up, that first day was much harder than I had imagined. Breakfast and a take away lunch the next morning set my second, tougher day over the Pyrenees up for success. I can’t recommend this albergue enough. Even though I was challenged those first day, I took the spirit of my stay with me. That group of pilgrims became my rock, although we didn’t walk together we met each other time and time again throughout the Camino, for dinner or a coffee, each supporting each other throughout the journey with visits, text and WhatsApp. I believe that first night at Borda set the stage for a successful Camino. Surprisingly I plan to walk this Camino again and will definitely book my first night there again. T
5 / 5 This is a really wonderful albergue 9K from SJPP nestled on a hillside with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The albergue has been beautifully renovated in recent years and it really caters for pilgrims. Miguel was on duty the evening we stayed at Borda and apart from being a superb cook, he was very kind, funny and a helpful host. At the end of our meal he went through the route over the mountain in detail, ensuring that we all arrived in Roncesvalles safe and sound the following evening. I couldn’t recommend Albergue Borda highly enough.
5 / 5 A wonderful start to our Camino. Michel was so friendly and helpful. The place is extremely clean. The food... dinner, breakfast and picnic lunch was excellent.
A lovely evening in the mountains and made the crossing of the Pyrenees from France to Spain so much more enjoyable.
5 / 5 Best place to Start your Camino. Lorenzo the Host will give you the most important tips and tricks for you journey onward. The rooms are quite new, clean and tidy. The Dinner is a once in a lifetime (or twice😄) experience, not only the food, which was delicious, but for the Camino Spirit.
