This place is surrounded by a beautiful peaceful environment. The facility is super comfortable, clean and modern. The owner made our stay memorable by educating us on the history of the camino and the region. Interestingly, he distilles his own “agua ardiente” which we had a chance to taste. With their bar and restaurant we didn’t have to go anywhere and we really cherished Calixtino as our best Camino stop!

First, this hotel is very charming and located just off of the Camino path. But it is a ways from Palas de Rei so if you want to go into the town you either need to walk about 45 minutes or take a short taxi for 7€. The staff were friendly and helpful and the main area for eating and sitting is very serene. The food was good as well. But make note, if you want to purchase anything to eat or drink there is an 18€ minimum. This surprised me since I booked through Santiago Ways and all my meals were prepaid. So when I wanted a couple glasses of wine in the afternoon it was expected I rack up a bill of at least 18€. The rooms look quaint but mine had a bad odor, a combination of mustiness and sewer. Also the room is very sparse, only one pillow, and the mattress is rubber which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. I was able to find some spare blankets at least. Also the window hinge was broken.

Excellent place to stay on the galician rural area by all means. Charming, refreshing and friendly. I have had a great accommodation on my Camino days. Highly recommended!

For starters, this place is like a mile or two from any other restaurants or supermarkets so you’re petty much trapped once you get here. The outside is quite nice and aesthetic but the rooms are bare bones. The mattresses are super thin and the sheets are as cheap as they come. The walls are so thin I kid you not I heard the guy in the next room using the toilet and could barely sleep because anytime someone spoke or coughed - I heard it. We chose this place because we wanted a relaxing night on the Camino but for the price it was so disappointing as we couldn’t sleep due to noises everywhere. The only redeeming quality was at the (overpriced) restaurant, our server Nenson was super attentive and kind. The front desk staff didn’t care about anyone being there. I have NO idea how this place has 4.4 stars on Google maps, but take my advice and don’t waste your time or money.

Basic room with thin rubber mattresses and thin walls - feels like people next door are in your room. Looked like this one was in the 'can't be bothered' category because the service was not very welcoming when I arrived. It improved at dinner where the staff were very polite and attentive. Good location right on the Camino walk.
