It's 1 km before the Palas de Rei downtown center. The bungalows are very pretty, I like the wood look. The bathroom is clean with hot water and good shower pressure. Bonus points for their refillable soap and shampoo containers (vs one time use little bottles). Unfortunately, the walls are paper thin. You hear EVERYTHING: the front door opening, neighbours' bathroom door slamming shut, neighbours talking, their TV, their suitcase rolling, their snoring... I also prefer being able to control my own room temperature and not have to walk outside to access the dining room (it's freezing in end of October). The staff was nice.
Clean rooms but thin walls. Heard everything even two rooms down. Current dining area is very sterile. Dinner was ok. Breakfast was standard. Reception is hard to find. Staff was nice.
(September 2024)- Located at the beginning of the village, the hotel is under construction. The reception/dining/ everything hall is located under the new building. The rooms are in log cabin style buildings about 100-200 meters away. Construction should have prioritized the kitchen as there is nothing within a kilometer, depending on the time you're ready to eat. Closest spot closes at 6 pm and the owner didn't wish to cook at 5 pm. Very difficult area to find food close by
I was with a group. Appalling service, freezing cold rooms (heating broken apparently, but reception area was warm 🤨), no hair dryer in several rooms, electricity kept tripping, food very poor, cold and unappetising, 3 special diets were requested in advance, but the staff did not understand what was what. My fish free meal came out 20 minutes after everyone else and was still frozen! My second time there. NEVER AGAIN
This was the most expensive accommodation we stayed at on the Camino and one of the worst. The reception staff were rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. The room was large and comfy, but the walls were so thin you heard every word from the next room and every door slam. On the positive side the cleaning staff and kitchen staff were very friendly.
