I had the pleasure of staying at this albergue, and it was an exceptional experience. If you're looking to avoid crowds, meet wonderful and generous hospitaleros and fellow pilgrims, and savor delicious vegetarian cuisine, this place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere was joyful, and the people I met were warm and welcoming. The vegetarian meals were a delightful surprise, and I left with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude. Highly recommended for a unique and enriching pilgrimage experience.
If you’re planning to stay in Cacabelos, I highly recommend walking an extra 2 km to get here - this is a truly wonderful little oasis and definitely one of the top experiences I’ve had along the Camino! A lot of people talk about the “Camino spirit” which (sadly) I don’t think I really understood until I came here. During my experience, every single volunteer was super warm and welcoming the moment I set foot on the property. They were all so approachable and lovely to talk to and you could really see and feel the genuine care they had for each and every pilgrim. I’m not vegetarian and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious vegetarian dinner, a nice break from the usual pilgrim menus (that sometimes aren’t even filling lol!). The volunteers made sure that we were all full and not going to bed hungry and there was more than plenty to go around (even some leftovers!). Same goes for the breakfast. I could write forever about how wonderful this place is, but you must come experience it for yourselves! The place is magic 😊
Lovely little albergue in an old, carefully renovated house. They have very comfortable beds with cute, colorful linen, clean bathrooms and a meditation room with the most amazing view. The vegetarian dinner was delicious and plentiful: 2 courses, dessert, bread and wine. The hospitaleros were welcoming, accommodating of my needs and had all the answers to my questions regarding the next stages of the Camino. Happy stay 🤩
Amazing place. Beautiful building staffed with very friendly volunteers Wong’s e all walked the Camino. Great selling arrangements, Clean showers. Vegetarian dinner which was delicious. Definitely a place. To stay
10 stars! After multiple caminos, this is still one of the best albergues where I feel home, comfortable and safe. There are always wonderful and smiling hospitaler@s to care for the pilgrims and they go above and beyond to make your stay as nice as possible. Comfy strong beds with real linen and the room still had a pleasant temperature when it was very hot outside. I also love the litte quiet village with the cute little church on the hill. There´s a bar in town higher up along the main road but that´s more like a tourist kind of bar, no real pilgrim vibes there. The common vegetarian dinner is fantastic and we ate more veggies then we´ve seen anywhere before on the camino! Even for a non-vegetarian it´s great and rich food, compated to the boring menus we used to get in many other places. Exactly what you need after a long day of hiking. The little yellow house at the entrance of the road is connected to the albergue and it´s a wonderful place for a rest when passing by or just chill-out at the end of your walking stage. Thank you so much to Mar and the hospitaler@s for this beautiful place and for the great atmosphere!
