Excellent communication Great location after a long walk (early in the city) Great hosts. Food (for diner) is a great home cook meal and it’s a deal. The house is a family house and it feels like it. A great stop on the Camino… (Not to mention the hospital for pilgrims… free)
Very nice albergue run by a sweet couple. Diner is homecooked and also very good. The rooms are small and quiet so I slept like a baby ^^
Albergue Alea in Ponferrada is a house turned into hostel. Rooms are turned in 4-bed dorms. Our room had lots of light. Comfortable though cramped. Only one bath and toilet but separate for men and women which is good. Dinner served with homemade sangria, thick creamy vegetable soup and chicken stew of thick chicken thighs snd topped with ice cream dessert was excellent.
I’ve stayed here twice (Oct 2022 and Oct 2024.) Both times, I felt like I was staying at a friend’s home. The rooms are simple and full of light, the beds have real sheets and blankets, everything is very clean and cozy. The dinner is delicious, and most importantly, Amelia and Herve are kind and welcoming. Hope to see you both again on my next camino!
One of the best Albergue we stay in Camino the couples were so friendly we like stay in our best friends house. Place are clean and very comfortable. The dinner was top notch and generous with the volume. They only have 18 beds. Do reserve early, don't miss it if you are on your Camino. A so lovely not to miss.
