The hostel’s restaurant is amazing! Located at a place with a great view, amazing outdoor seating and friendly staff! The best fried calamari we’ve ever tried were right there! To die for! The batatas bravas as well! Highly recommend!
Just stopped for lunch. Looks fairly cheap and cheerful but the food is a step up in quality. Very pleasant sitting outside in the small square. The menu del dia was excellent value at €18 each. mussels for starter followed by pork chops, padron peppers and chips/salmon and chips washed down with a bottle of local wine. Excellent!
Great pension with a nicely appointed private bathroom and great location. The room was small but beautiful. The elevator is wonderful after a full day or walking or riding. I was bicycling the Camino and they let me put the bike on the lift and put it in the basement. The hostess gave me great recommendations for restaurants.
One of the best locations for a hotel in Ponferrada, being right opposite the castle walls! Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the castle. Small but clean and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Above a bar, but we've not had problems with noise. Friendly staff. Good value for money.
Ate at the alfresco restaurant facing the castilla. The service was quite slow and confusing (even with Spanish language) but we ordered the Paella (which was off-menu even though its displayed on the sign out front) and it was VERY GOOD! The seafood was fresh and it was cooked very well.
