Not my favorite hotel. The fellow that checked me in wasn't super friendly. I was on the 3rd floor but you have to take the stairs. The elevator doesn't stop at that floor. The room was small and didn't have a place to sit down other than the bed. The worst thing is that there is no air conditioning and I was there in June. My room was so hot even with all the windows open all night.
Honestly I don't understand the negative comments. The location was excellent. The room was very big and impeccably clean. We had the room with the balcony. And the service is awesome. The receptionist Paula was very attentive, nice and helpful! Perfect two days stay!
Yes, good price, but the staff could easily make more effort. Other than that rooms were clean, no control for the air conditioning, and good luck getting any extra service. CHEAP Owning a 4 star hotel in England, it’s all about service. The people working in the cafe next door were very friendly with good service, hotel/hostel not so much.
So this is by far the best value in Ponferrada for a single person room they have the best customer service I have seen in a very long time both in the states and since I came to Spain I had a room here a few weeks back for 3 days I believe I had issues paying they said don't worry about it rest a little bit here's your key your room is clean and ready to go it is one of the major reasons I was very excited to book 3 days in their hostel that is right next door I stayed somewhere else for a few days in between and when checking in no fault of their own I again had payment issues they again they were not worried about it told me my my room was clean and that I could go rest I chose not to this time because I really wanted to sort it out and I hadn't been walking on the Camino I was staying in town I'm taking a break while enjoying all the places within walking distance to take photographs of the mountain views museums public places that are beautiful and amazing so very many cherry blossom trees I would say this city is the best balance of suburban and city you will find in this hotel and hostel for me has been the best place I have found to stay and for you I guarantee it'll be at least top five on the list even if you include some of the rooms that cost 10 times more
Staff is not friendly, specially the ladies in the restaurant. Air conditioner was a disaster. Did not cool at all. I think there are much better options. It is a pity their staff is in an angry mood.
