There is just way too many beds. 130 beds in one single room, only separated by curtains. I had to ask the lady at the reception to please open the windows (they are too high, you can’t open yourself. I have a bed downstairs, I am 160cm, but can not sit up on my bed without hitting my head in the upper bed. They are squeezing just too many people into one room. 130 beds, 4 toilets and 4 showers in he woman’s bathroom. The lady at the reception is nice, also speaks some English. The place is as clean as it can be with the amount of people. No sockets at the beds, you have to charge on the hallway/ kitchen. There is no space for any kind of storage next to bed, not even to put phones. Just too many people, at a small place, I wouldn’t stay again.

There’s no rooms, just one big area full of bunk beds. They have a strict lights out policy at 22:30, but you will still hear people talking until later in the night. The problem with being an unique big room, is that snores gets one on top of the other and personally it was an actual nightmare trying to sleep. At the same time, people should be in silence until 7 am bu at 5:30 am you will be fully up because of everyone talking around you.

Excellent hotel, exquisite views, comfortable beds, clean rooms. Great service. Sat on hotel balcony for a couple of hours this evening overlooking the beautiful views. Hotel receptionist/barista was lovely and happy to answer all our questions regarding the Camino.

Reminder last check is 8 pm. I was lucky they let me come in at 8:30 pm. Very clean hostel strict lights out which is good for some but it was very clean as well. Dormitory bunkbed quite close to each other, but it’s clean can’t ask for anymore.. 2 a good location of a look in the river

Albergue Ferramenteiro in Portomarín was a practical choice during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. The hostel is vast, with many bunk beds in a large communal area. It was clean overall, and the shared bathrooms were adequate for the number of guests, though the showers could have offered hotter water. The kitchen facilities were useful, and the calf massager was a much-appreciated amenity after a long day's walk. The location is conveniently on the pilgrimage route, making it easy to continue the journey. Arriving in Portomarín via the long staircase at the city's entrance was challenging, but it added to the pilgrimage experience.
