Here are the positive - The location was good. The rooms were quite spacious. The bathroom was extremely nice. The room had a private balcony, but I was unable to get the door open and was told that they’re very difficult so I just didn’t bother. The bed was OK. The pillows are quite large and made with heavy foam, so that wasn’t great but overall I think people would be fine with the beds. Here is why I gave just 2 stars. The noise level was outrageous. The floors are tile and I was on the first floor so people were above me and I could hear them dragging the chairs across the floor walking, moving furniture who knows what they were doing until well past midnight I could also hear voices talking, and apparently my room is right above the dining hall. It was level 10 noise for many hours and very disturbing. As a Camino Pilgrim, my goal was to be asleep by 10 pm and I was still wide awake at 12:30 AM! If you were to stay here, I would definitely ask for a room on the 2nd floor.
Spacious and clean rooms located on the Camino de Santiago. After 28 days of walking it was nice to get a night's sleep without the symphony of snoring in the albergues. And, they have air conditioning!
Rooms are very clean and spacious. The bathrooms have been renovated and are aesthetically pleasing. The furnishing of the rooms felt dated and actually does not live up to todays standards. It was also very sparse. The price was quite high for what was being offered. The view from the terrace of the restaurant is nice. And the server at the bar and restaurant was very swift and friendly.
Perfect location close to "downtown" and near the camino. Very helpful reception and kitchen staff. I had supper there and enjoyed it very much. Room was spacious and comfortable. I think this was my favourite bed/linen situation so far. I slept SO WELL. Control of your own AC/heating 👍 I agree with the comments about the sewage smell through the drains though. I don't know if it's a plumbing issue so close to the river. The bathroom was clean. I'm sensitive to smells and it was tolerable with the drains covered with a towel and bathroom door closed. Only soap that doubles as shampoo provided. Biggest plus for me: it was quiet 🫶
We arrived at Villa Jardin in the midst of the blackout in Spain and Portugal. The staff were amazing during this difficult time, making sure guests had what they needed. My travel companion is gluten intolerant and the staff arranged wonderful salads for her. I would have given 5 stars for location, cleanliness, comfort - but the staff makes it a 10 star.
