4 / 5 The place is admittedly a bit old, but fairly clean. €17 for a bed in the dormitory — I believe they also offer private rooms.
Pros:
They currently provide real sheets instead of disposable ones, which is really nice when you're walking the Camino.
There's a small spot to charge your phone overnight, again, much appreciated.
No issues with hot water. There's even soap and shampoo in the shower.
The common room is fairly comfortable and a decent size.
Cons:
The laundry service is extremely expensive — €5 for washing and €5 for drying. Honestly, it feels like a bit of a scam.
No air conditioning, and the beds are a bit too close together, so the air gets stuffy pretty quickly.
Honestly, from my experience, it's a fairly average albergue — nothing exceptional, but decent enough — and I'd be inclined to recommend it to someone walking the Camino.
1 / 5 Very bad – one of the more expensive albergues at €16, and you don’t really get many of the things that a lot of other albergues offer. I don’t think the price is fair at all for the quality.
The staff give off the vibe that they just want to squeeze every last euro out of you to make money. On top of that, doing laundry in the machine costs 5€, which is the most I’ve paid since I started this journey – and I’ve already walked 600 km.
Buen Camino.
2 / 5 I have not slept in a bad bed on the Camino until this place. The mattress was so soft and saggy that I had to put it on the floor. No matter how cheap, it’s not worth staying here. There are lots of other places in Portomarin. I wish I looked a little longer.
5 / 5 For it's price point, Pension Manuel, is a 5 star experience. I stayed in a private room with shared bath for 37€. The bathroom was shared amongst the private rooms only. The shower was hot, soap was provided. The room was clean. There were blackout blinds. Commons areas included a lounge, small kitchenette, laundry area. This is a "no frills" accomodation that is functional for the peregrino.
5 / 5 I stayed in the dorm room for €13 and lucky I got the whole dorm to myself. Blankets are provided. Comfy bed, and good nights sleep.
Bathroom had shampoo and moisturiser to use, good shower pressure
Staff very nice
Shared kitchen big and fully stocked with use of teas and coffee
Clean throughout
Washing machine and dryer to use for a price , I didn’t use so don’t know how much
Off the main square so very quiet at night but only 2 min walk to all amenities like bars, restaurants and supermarket
