A truly wonderful stay! The double room and other areas were very clean. The location is on a hillside, offering stunning views and a beautiful natural environment. The staff was incredibly kind; they noticed that we were hikers and gave us muscle-relaxing massage cream. We are very grateful to them!
It's cheap and affordable for a bed and a bath. You cannot complain about the location as it was clearly mentioned that there is an uphill walk and if you are walking the Camino this is not a big deal. basic facilities are also available like bar hand/washing machine, ample outdoor clothes line, picnic tables, etc. A supplemental dinner and breakfast is also offered so no need to find a place to eat.
Avoid this place, unless you really want to use the pool (and the other albergue in town with a pool is full). A small bottle of water was €1.70. The rooms are not nice, even for an albergue. Many of the beds aren’t even in rooms, actually, just in a large hall with some dividers. I’ll give them that the place is clean, but the price of the food and drinks really left a bad taste in my mouth.
The hostel is very far from the city which is very hard to get after a long day of hike in Camino or to get back to city for dinner or shopping. The facility doesn't offer anything. There were no soap in the washrooms or bed sheets. The facility looks a bit like jail more than a hostel. The reception was very rude and didn't really help us with our concerns. Overall there are much better hostels in town to get accommodation.
unbelievably rude staff. An african american man blocking people from showering or entering dining hall to eat or inquire for food, going around the camping grass area at 8:30 telling everyone they need to get out NOW, to leave the grounds as check out is now (he said it was beyond his control, that the owner wants NOBODY in the place at 9:10am etc) and we couldn’t even cook our own food or eat or finish packing up on the picnic tables. We couldn’t shower or inquire about additional nights if we so were entailed to. It looks and feels like a prison, does the black man own it; if not who are the owners? Horrible horrible horrible place! shame on you! When we were asked to leave because it was one minute past check out (we were in tents, not even taking up a bed space lol), we walked outside past what what seemed and felt like barbed wire- walking along the path back to the camino… looking back in the distance at this building and grounds, it felt like we were just liberated from a concentration camp. Treat people that stay there with respect. Disgusting! The owners need to be given a side dish of humility and understanding, compassion and respect for those that pay real MONEY to stay there; it would be good to know if these horrible people own any other albergue’s. HORRIBLE. Maybe they hate pilgrims; lots of locals drinking there.
