Had arrived too early to check in at La Casona De Rabanal Oca but Alba at door, graciously, let me leave bag and pointed me to check in which was at start of village. She “upgraded” me to a room with a separate bathroom. And packed me a hearty picnic of double ham and cheese French toast sandwich, fruit juice, banana and a chocolate danish. Yumz!
Although it's in a quaint hamlet and the staff is nice enough, this place is chaotic and disorganized. The bedroom and bathroom doors / locks are very problematic. The toilet is slow to refill if someone else is using water in the other bathroom.
Very nice Albergue. Clean , well situated, showers are great and the heating was on 💝🙏💝
Stayed here during my camino. Made the mistake of going straight to the casona without checking my emails -- the check in is not on site (its at a bar restaurant a bit of a walk back to the entrance of town) so be aware! But the person cleaning the casona was so nice and offered that I could leave my pack while I walked back to Posada el Tesin to check in. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, I got to use the laundry facilities, the common bathroom was also very clean. Wonderful place to stay, but my stay was ill-timed -- it was the UEFA Champions League championship game between Real Madrid and Liverpool, and some of the people who were in the casona were very noisy while watching the game. Good thing Real Madrid won, or my almost sleepless night would have been all for nothing!
The room was clean and well located on the Camino de Santiago. The staff were able to understand French. The only problem encountered was the substandard pilgrim's meal accompanied by disgusting wine.
