A functional albergue: this place has a bed, showers and a place to hang your clothes. It is shabby but clean enough. There are blankets. I checked for begbugs and did not see or experience any. But this place is very unloved. There are no staff - it is run by the people in the cafe across the road. It is a big, sad, cold and empty room that (from what people say) is never full. It feels like the owners simply don't care about it, or the Camino in general. The washing sink was blocked. More concerning - the hostel is not locked at night, staff are not present and there is no emergency number if something goes wrong. You are expected to leave your shoes outside in full view of the street. I am not at all worried about theft (guaranteeing I get mugged the day after posting this) but some basic things could have been done.
Nice location. Cool courtyard and backyard. Both are shaded well. Had a good €10 2 course pilgrim dinner of Paella at the bar that was promoted by the place. Biggest problem is that we all put our food in the mini fridge, however the room containing the fridge was locked when we woke up. also, there wasn't a lot of toilet paper and so we soon ran out.
This Albergue provided a disappointing stay. There was a window pane missing in the dormitory, which was covered by board. This meant there was a chilling draft. The light was not working in the dormitory. The showers and dormitory were not clean: the floors felt gritty underfoot. There was no communal area to sit except the kitchen. The kitchen consisted of a sink and refrigerator. There was no microwave, no kettle and no way to make a hot drink or snack. Definitely needs improvement.
Under no circumstances should you stay at this albergue! It is truly deplorable, and I believe it's the worst albergue I've ever stayed at. They don't care about their guests. When I arrived, there was a small heater in the room, which they later removed despite the freezing temperature. There were noisy children slamming doors and screaming. It's not worth paying 8 euros to stay here. Please do yourself a favor and find another albergue.
The last albergue I want to take for the night. Even it is 5€ I wouldn't go...(which is 10€ for 1 bed...truly sorry for that) Please don't use the word "municipal"
