Albergue El Caminante

I had breakfast there. The food is expensive and the quality quite low. Especially the bread, which is a disaster. Also, the old man working in this place has a lot of problems and he got mad literally about moving the table 5 cm. There is another bar 20 meters away. If you read this go there. It will for sure be better.

Don’t stay here. The people that run it are extremely rude. Not a good pilgrim experience. Was rudely awoken at 6:30 am by the man who came in banging on the bed, then he berated me when at 7:15 I had not left the Albergue. Then the lady came in while I was packing and started berating me in Spanish at 7:30. It’s now 7:45, check out is supposed to be at 8am and the guy is saying he will call the police. Such a surreal experience. I got a bad vibe when I first arrived, the lady was rude as if I was doing something wrong for even wanting to get a bed. Came into the room after I’d settled in and berated me for having a large pack as if it wasn’t allowed. Whole experience didn’t make any sense 😅. I’m just a regular guy I don’t know why all the fuss about me.

We stayed in the dormitory and ate dinner here and are very happy with both the service and the food!! Everything felt like great value for money and there were many options on the menu. There are facilities for handwashing laundry. Bathrooms were average for albergues but nothing unfamiliar for a well-travelled pilgrim! The couple running the albergue are lovely and doing a great job maintaining their property!

Charged 4.50EUR for a medium draft beer. Doesn’t seem to welcome pilgrims. Would look elsewhere.

Expensive food and drinks. 2 coffees is 4€ and glass of juice is 3 €!! Too costly for pilgrimps. Just 15eur bed is not worthy of dirtiness you get. Do not recommend! Only nice is the young guy working there, who really tries hard with English and giving you some nice experience.
