In late May 2024, I arrived in Santiago, and on that day, I checked into Albergue Azabache. I was greeted by Susanna, who was very kind and welcoming. Perhaps seeing that I was a bit tired, she offered to help carry my backpack as we had to walk upstairs. My friend and I stayed in a room with a balcony. Everything has been great today. The location is just a street away from the Cathedral, making it easy to stroll around the city and learn more about the Cathedral. Thank you to Susanna and to everyone I met during those two days. You were all so kind. :) If you're interested in my travels, I'll be sharing travel updates on my Instagram @knocktraveler

It was possible to take a shower here before my train journey. Staff was super friendly and helpful. For 6€, shower gel, a towel and the shower itself was included. Thanks again, that shower was much needed 😀

Super nice location, clean, kitchen and small rooms (I mean, not to many beds). Affordable and last but not least, super nice and friendly staff.

-excellent excellent. -getting inside for check in a bit confusing- need to ring the doorbell on the street and theyll let you in, not the doorbell directly on the azabache door (thats used for after checkin) -for 25€ per person per night, the location is a steal. perfect & dreamy- on a cute street filled w shops/food, 1 minute to the cathedral & all the main stuff whether you go left or right from the albergue -lot of stairs but room/bathroom were clean and the puffy blanket/cotton sheets were very comfy -quiet enough and has washer/dryer for 4€ each (dryer took 2 hrs but worked very well)

For its price, it has a great service and location. I went during the Holy Week so I paid the ff: regular - 18 Holy Week - 22 I especially enjoyed the terrace. The beds were comfortable. The blanket is warm. There are sockets and mini-lamp next to the bed. Downside is, if your legs are hurting (esp. after doing the Camino), you'd need to go up and down often.
