Just around the corner from Cathedral. Quiet. Great hospitaleiro. Top floor room even had a double bunk for us - novelty. Privacy curtains and lockers. Bathroom too small for number of pilgrims. Great place to stay.
Unfortunately, my experience here was very disappointing. I woke up with multiple swollen bites and, after checking the bed, found bugs, rubbish, and lost items underneath and around the mattress. It was clear the room had not been properly cleaned despite claims that it’s cleaned daily. I immediately contacted the owner and shared photos. He initially said he’d have the cleaners inspect the room and confirm what the bugs were but after that, he stopped responding entirely, only replying when I followed up about a refund they offered. My friend also checked her bed the next morning and found the same: dirt, rubbish, and a general lack of cleanliness. The photos speak for themselves they show the bugs, and the condition of the beds. This review isn’t just about the bites or a refund it’s about how you treat paying guests when they raise legitimate concerns. The location is great so that is one positive! Would not recommend.
I stayed in a 4 bed room. It was very nice, very clean, perfectly central location. One minus point because of the bathrooms. There is just one bathroom (2 toilets, 2 showers, 2 sinks) per floor, which already is very little since the check out time is from 9-11. So, you can imagine that it is very busy in the mornings. But not just that, the men‘s bathroom is in the second and the women‘s in the first, so it is very likely that you have to travel a bit if you need to pee during the night. In my opinion, it would make much more sence to mix the bathrooms, since the rooms are also already mixed… Another thing is that the cleaning lady was cleaning those bathrooms at 6-7pm, which was the time I wanted to take a shower. Would be better if all that is done together with the cleaning of the rooms!
The location is super perfect! 3 mins walking from Pilgrims’ office, 5 mins walking from Santiago De Compostela Cathedral, The room is come with digital lock, your own space and charger, with curtain and blankets! €27 per night!
4 person room is spacious. But the locker is too small for my backpack. After u close the windows, the room becomes very hot and stuffy. Sadly when I wanted to shower at abt an hr past check in time, the women bathroom was flooded by some ladies, and has fishy smell:((( Not to mention that the water pressure is not strong, and shower head was fixed to the wall:( Can be noisy if ur room is close to street. There are restaurants and bars opposite the hostel.
