Solo pilgrim travelling by bike. This was my first experience of staying at an albergue and I really enjoyed it as the place was reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Each bunkbed had a locker, reading light and power outlet. There are three shared bathrooms that were clean and large. The place is in walking distance to the city center and there's a shopping mall (with anything you might need) right behind the building. I would definitely come back.

We are senior citizens and requested two bottom bunks the day before and though we were the last two to check in they could have easily accommodated the request. We had two young men staying in the room with us. They could have easily taken the two top bunks. Also there was only one toilet in the men's bathroom and it was in with a shower. The four person dorm was separated from the main room by a curtain and the main room had giant windows open to the street. You could hear the people walking by talking, cars going by, and anybody could reach in or climb in and take anything they wanted. The walk down to the cathedral was 30 minutes. The walk up the hill to the hostel took us an hour. I have stayed in many hostels and this was definitely on the low end.

Not what it advertises. Reception left unmanned for hours with door open. Lights on a timer and they go off with no warning. No lamp beside every bed. No keys for lockers and not enough lockers for guests. 2 plug sockets between 8 people. Would not recommend it...

ok, just do yourself a favor and book another albergue to stay in santiago. it wasn’t the worst place ever but kinda close to it. just the type of place that charges you for everything- towel, luggage storage… really just a big room full of bunk beds. No kitchen! and overpriced vending machine. just 2 showers for women and one of them wasn’t able to pour hot water, only freezing! one toilet.. but at least was flushing haha…you really wanna have a nicer albergue at the end of your camino!

It was very dark . The wall paper made it like a dungeon. Sorta dirty . It seemed more like a workers hostel than a tourist hostel . But it was a place to rest . We left very early . Someone was saying they may have gotten bed bugs . We did not experience that . However, it was very possible.
