We only availed of the restaurant and it was surprisingly good! My daughter lives in Madrid and knows local and likes local cuisine It has a mom and pop feel and also seems to have the local area residents come in: families with kids and grannies. The tortilla was Galician style and came in a huge portion. The price is reasonable ŵhich is also an oddity as we checked out other restos in the area and were all priced for tourists meaning expensive.
It was a horror night. The bed had bedbugs and bathrooms dirty. The place smell like drugs. We complained and they say is our fault. We even have the photos of the bugs. It was full. No recomeded for anyone
Not easy to locate. Address says No. 28 but that's a completely different building, which is an apartment. It's not where you're staying, instead enter the adjacent bar and restaurant where the barrista is your concierge. Yes, that's where you check in. You will be brought to a building accross the street, which will be the Hostal Pumar (no signage). Room needs an update and an AC during warmer months. Even with the large windows fully opened at night, it was a bit warm to have a restful sleep as per my stay. Helpful staff, who guided us with our questions and some helpful tips during our stay. Location is great as it is just few minutes walk down the Cathedral of St. James.
Great family atmosphere, very nice welcome, nice lady gave us a lot of necessary information and showed us around the room. The room was perfectly clean, comfortable beds, beautiful old furniture, daily cleaning with attention to our belongings. The bathroom is very comfortable. I also have to praise the restaurant, delicious food and good beer. A smile and a kind word from all the staff, all very friendly and polite. My wife and I were pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela and after reaching our destination, thanks to you, we spent a wonderful time in the city! Thank you all very much! It was a pleasure to support Spain together in the football match against Italy at Euro 2024 and we would also like to thank you for the opportunity to watch the match of our team Poland :-) Also with a delicious dinner and a friendly atmosphere :) We really wanna visit you again in the future and hope it will be possible :)
The location is fairly close to the center. You have to check in at a cafe. Then you walk along to a somewhat dated apartment. The room is clean, but very dated. In my room the curtains were tied together to keep them closed. If you look at what you pay, this is disproportionate. For this money I would look further.
