Location is great! We had a good room and comfortable beds. No hot water for the showers which would have been much appreciated after a long walk in the rain
Hostel is as bad and uncommunicative as the other reviews specify. Stay there if you're ok with location trumping cleanliness of rooms and unhelpfulness of staff Edit to respond - correct, I did end up actually staying here. The photos and descriptions we read meant we did not feel our health or our security would be safe if we stayed here, and the management were unresponsive and unhelpful while trying to cancel our booking, including charging the card before/without responding to any messages.
STAY AWAY!!!! Do not book! They are scammers. I booked the day before my stay and they sent me a checkin link for the current day. When I brought this to their attention they did not respond for over 24 hours. Since I could not check in and was not sure if everything was okay, I booked another hotel and requested free cancellation. When they finally got back to me at 5pm the day I was supposed to arrive, they said it was my problem not theirs and that they would not cancel or refund. When I pointed out their errors, they stopped responding to me completely.
Great location, but I got bed bug bites. When I arrived 8pm, totally destroyed the room was not cleaned yet. Which I wad not making a problem of, but the staff was a bit condescending saying ‘please wait I already know’ ‘I just came from home for this’ etc, didn’t seem like they’re sorry. the concerned part was I found blood stains that looks like a death trails of a bed bug. I reported it but they said they’re 100% sure there is no bed bug. I woke up a few times that night from strong itchy stings but was not sure if it was a mosquito or something else. A few days later now it’s working definitely nothing like mosquito. It’s making a huge burning hot humps under skin and looks almost like I got skin disease.
Lovely refurbished building in a brilliant location close to the Cathedral, cafes and all shops. Airport bus stop 10 mins walk, Bus station 25mins. Rooms are clean and neat but with shared bathrooms. While the location is a bonus, there's a downside.....cafe/laneway noise is substantial until midnight. It's quiet after that.
