Albergue Cofradía del Santo

This is probably the most beautiful Albergue I've stayed in so far. It has plenty of space in the garden and in the indoors common area , and the countless couches are great. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are really nice. I'd stay in the place for a regular holiday if I could.

Don't stay here if you hope to sleep well. I feel as though the majority of these five-star reviews come from people feeling compelled to rate high because of the excitement of so many others on the Camino. A large number of them are probably the ones who drank all night and kept the rest of us up with their snoring. Shower stalls had mould all over them. Staff was helpful in telling us we had to be out of the building by 8am. They disappeared at 10pm and there were "pilgrims" sleeping wherever they felt like and making noise all night. Yeah, it was flashier than most other albergues, however, in my mind, the point of these things is to get a good nights rest and that just wasn't happening this week (mid-October 2025). There are so many people in here that it feels like some type of institutional facility. I feel like part of a herd of cattle in here and this is the worst place I've stayed on the Camino. If you like to feel like your on a highschool fieldtrip, this is your kind of spot.

Great place to stay in Santo Domingo de la Calzada as a Pilgrim on the way to Santiago de Compostela! Really good price, great facilities with cold baths for feet and laundry, fully equipped kitchen and great common areas, amazing location!

Very central, modern and clean. The beds are fantastic, with more privacy and comfort than your average Santiago albuerge. The showers need a touch up.

This albergue is very well equipped, great garden with 4 small pool to rest your feet, a big kitchen. A laundry mat right in front of it, a sport shop next to it. Great stay.
