Hostal La Catedral

I had a pleasant stay at Hostal La Catedral in Santo Domingo de la Calzada during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. The room was spacious and comfortable, although there was no breakfast service or reception. However, communication via message center was quick and efficient. The location is outstanding, right next to the cathedral and excellent restaurants. Santo Domingo de la Calzada is a charming city, and the hostel's location made it incredibly convenient to explore and enjoy.

I’m not sure I understand the previous ratings but our stay here was good. As pilgrims, it was nice to have our own clean and neat room and WC. It was clean, quiet, close to many restaurants and bars as well as the Catedral. As mentioned, our host wasn’t overly talkative but be was nice and even washed and dryer and folded our clothes. I’d stay here again. Check out the sweet/bakery around the corner. Delicious!

A very unfriendly and unhelpful man is the owner. First they don't answer to let you in. Then our suitcases were transferred here and locked next door earlier because he does not have enough staff. I told him we could not even shower without the suitcase. I asked if the neighbors where the suitcases were locked were for sure coming today. He shrugged snd said it wasn't his problem snd offered no help or assurance. He has wrecked our stay in this beautiful little city.. strongly suggest you do not stay here!

This place was not worth the money. There was a hot shower, which was nice and some towels. But the worst part was waking up to find giant bed bugs on all three beds in the room. It was horrible. The owner didn't care either when we explained what happened. Don't stay here if you don't have to.

Close to the Cathedral with single occupancy in a twin size bed. Clean and tidy perfect for resting after a long walk.
