I walked the Camino de Santiago in September 2025 and had the privilege of stayin 1 night in this Parador . The building was magnificent. The foyer and various spaces in the hotel were fantastic . Very medieval . The room was one of the nicest i have stayed in and the breakfast salon was large and very regal . The food options were wide and varied . I would highly recommend this 3 star Parador to anyone who is considering to stay in Sando Domingo. I was so happy my Camino travel partners : Magichillholidays located in Ireland reserved/ recommended this hotel.

Nice hotel marred by complete lack of facilities at hotel and unbelievable rude staff. We stayed two nights and rooms were very clean and comfortable however the restaurant is only open for breakfast (which is very good), there is no bar and rooms lack basic tea and coffee making facilities which should be standard in a establishment of this quality. When we asked the front desk woman if they had a jug to boil water she literally shouted at us they had no facilities (maybe she thought we were deaf or stupid?) and ran away from us. Check in was like something out of fawlty towers I actually felt guilty for disturbing her (same woman) as she obviously had much better things to do with her time than attending to clients. My apologies for the inconvenience having to attend to a paying guest obviously caused them. Actually felt like walking out.

Wow. Super disappointing experience. All I’ve ever heard is how fantastic and special the Paradores are. I am presently walking the Camino de Santiago and decided to treat myself to what I thought would be a first class stay at a famous Spanish Parador. I booked this location because the other Parador was unavailable. It is really no better than a low end chain hotel. Despite the stunning building there was zero charm or warm welcome from the reception staff. The room had no complimentary water, coffee, tea, bathroom amenities. The restaurant at the property only serves a buffet breakfast. For over $200USD for a regular room I expect much more than this Parador offers. It would have been so lovely to sit in one of the beautiful salons in this historic building to enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea with a good book. Nope. I just wanted a cup of coffee in the morning. Not possible. Only full buffet breakfast option. And nothing available in the near vicinity. When I asked the receptionist about their lack of customer care she said “that’s just what we do”. I won’t try another Parador while I am in Spain to be able to compare. This experience ruined it for me. I would highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.

First of all, in the 6 months that I am travelling with my bicycle this is the FIRST hotel where they have no place for my bike?? They told me at the reception to park the bike at their other hotel a few streets away. I said that this was quite inconvenient and asked to rebook in the other hotel. This was also not possible. After some walking I was finally in my room, but instead of having a good night sleep I could enjoy the conversation of my neighbours quite clearly… Very disappointed sadly!!

services for bar and dinner were in the sister Hotel 500m away. I was not aware of this on booking and would not have if known. This resulted in 2km of walking to visit the hotel. Dinner did not start until 830. No food in between. When I return at 10pm. My hotel reception was not manned. I had no idea of breakfast arrangement and could not ask. I go to breakfast at 710. Help myself to simple bowl of fruit and yogurt the staff tell me I cannot have breakfast til 730 ...3 separate staff members. They make me feel like a small child very poor experience all round and not worth the premium price. The staff know nothing of how to treat or talk to guests. Service provision was limited it's basically a bed and breakfast....in set and restricted times.......I see the response from the hotel is to say information is easily available using the Internet and QR code. That information would have been useful to me as had I arrived for breakfast at the set time I could have avoided the "telling off" I recieved from the 3 staff members and enjoyed my breakfast in some peace. The services at the B and B tho remain limited.
