Booked a nice modern room, but after check in I was given grandma style room with 2 small beds. It came out they have only one modern room (as manager said for pictures on booking.com!!!) :D And manager said it's not up to me to decide where I stay (even though I paid money for certain category of room)... no comments

Very basic accommodation. But Internet is non-existence. If you want to have good wifi for your travel information, this is not the place. The lighting in the room is very dim and only the ceiling light is working. Shower is great! The place is clean. No reception area nor staffs at the site. But you can reach someone by phone and they speak good English. It’s very close to the train station but farther from the trail. However, if you do bags transfer and started with Sarria, it makes sense to stay here so you don’t carry your bag all the way down the road. The town is small and is close to everything. This place is quiet.

I stayed at Casa Matías for my first night in Sarria, starting the camino from here. The room was OK, but quite dated. The bathroom was very clean. Unfortunately, the rollerblinds did not work, which meant the room stayed somewhat bright throughout the night. The walls are pretty thin and fellow guests were playing music until 11pm or so. The host were efficient and friendly. You check in at the photography store next door.

Perfectly adequate one room pension. It was clean and tidy and easy to access. go to the bar next-door to register. There is only one window in my room, and, leaving it open, it was a little noisy outside until about midnight. Not a big problem. Like a lot of the pensions, there is no common area. The real problem is that it’s quite far (15 minutes) from the actual Camino path and the restaurants other caminantes frequent. There is a laundromat across the street open until 10:30 pm (and it provides change) which is super convenient.

The room is big, however, it’s freezing cold and owner only turn on the tiny heater until 7pm. The efficiency of the heater is far insufficient to provide enough power to make the room warm. We have to wear our heavy snow jacket and wool socks to sleep but still cold. No drinking hot water. The attitude of the owner is snobbish and arrogant. Will not recommend people to stay here.
