I enjoyed my stay here, although it was during the low season. Great dinner and great sleep, exactly what I wanted after a long day on the Camino. I think if it were busy it might not be the best given there's just the one bathroom in the dorm and not many outlets.

My stay at Hostal Rural La Pata de Oca during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage was very pleasant. The hostel boasts a unique Templar style and traditional décor that adds to the charm. The rooms are simple, clean, and quiet, providing a good night's rest. The staff are friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. They also offer a satisfying pilgrim menu that was perfect after a long day's walk. Highly recommend for pilgrims looking for a restful and atmospheric place to stay.

Great rooms and pool, but avoid eating piligrims menu there. Was charged 13 Euro for plate of pasta with sauce and salad and cheapest yogurt for desert. They cooked for 11 but there where 17 bookings so they spared food for all of us.

Had an excellent bacon hamburger. Wine bottle at 8€ was excellent. Service was good and credit card accepted.

La Pata de Oca in Torres del Rio was a stay of highs and lows. At 15 euros per person, plus another 5 euros each for laundry and drying, the cost felt excessive for what was offered. The upside? The hostel was not crowded, which allowed my girlfriend and me to enjoy double bunk beds that could be enclosed by curtains—giving us an unexpected touch of privacy. However, the hostel missed the mark on essential conveniences. There were no electrical outlets near the beds, and the shower experience ranged from messy to poorly lit. The absence of soap in the bathroom sinks was another head-scratcher, puzzling us as to why such a basic necessity was missing. To make matters worse, the hostel was infested with mosquitoes, adding another layer of discomfort to our stay. In summary, while La Pata de Oca has its merits, it’s plagued by an array of issues that go beyond the high price point. The private sleeping arrangements were a bonus, but the experience was compromised by a lack of basic amenities and an unwelcome mosquito presence.
