If you want to have a real pilgrimage experience, Sleeping on the floor, with dinner in which you participate in the preparation (and washing the dishes). All this donation (you leave some money for the next day and other pilgrims who come) Female volunteers in the albergue - nice with a lot of information about the city ... My warm recommendation
A small family run, donation-based albergue next to the church. The quirky couple volunteer their time and reside in the building. The furnishings are basic: beds are mattresses on the floor. Bathrooms are complete with hot-water showers. Dinner and breakfast is included with your donation. Contribute accordingly.
These beautiful souls had cooked Caldo Gallego for us peregrinos when we stayed here. The meal, the company and the albergue went straight to the heart.
I was very kindly received by a Dutch volunteer woman. The pilgrims prepare the meal together and the dessert was delicious thanks to an American from Seattle. Is with donation.
Parish shelter, austere, with mattresses, breakfast and community dinner. Served by magnificent volunteer hospitaleros. A luxury for the pilgrim to Santiago.
