5 / 5 You must stay here! This is the best place we’ve stayed in our 4 caminos de Santiago and the best lodging in all of our many other visits to Spain. Oliver is a kind, generous, thoughtful host. He gave us a big bottle of violet water, treated us to coffee and cookies, a wonderful tour of the home, and feee wine. He loves this historic, important home, which is over 600 years old. He also provided an explanation of Viana and the royal family that lived here. The room and bed were very comfortable and the plentiful breakfast was delicious. Oliver also gave us a group tour of the bodega and he hand-drew our sellos in our pilgrim credential book. The inn is downtown and in a quiet location by a church.
5 / 5 We are walking the Camino and after a long hot day it felt like when entering this historic building we were transported from a desert to an oasis - we immediately booked a second night to rest and explore the lovely town of Viana.
The building is full of history and the proud owner Oliver gave us a tour and showed us the old winery, the library and the salon - each room was decorated immaculately and showed the 800 years of history.
We had booked an en-suite bedroom that was very spacious and exquisite. The building’s thick walls kept the heat out and made for a wonderful nights sleep … that was followed by a very nice breakfast with excellent coffee.
A fantastic place with an amazing host.
5 / 5 It was a privilege to stay at Casa palaciega Doña Leocadia. It is the most beautiful guest house, full of heart and holds such rich history. Olivier’s generous hospitality was exceptional. My stay here was an experience I will never forget.
5 / 5 This is a beautiful gem of a place, run by the kindest, nicest soul. Olivier made our stay incredible, from the incredible breakfast to learning the history of the place and meeting other travellers, everything was perfect. We absolutely recommend it.
5 / 5 Our family stayed here on the last night of our Camino before finishing in Logroño. Absolutely wonderful experience, one of the best stays we’ve had in Spain.
Beautiful old house with a fascinating history, perfect location in the Viana old town (right on the Camino route), delicious home-cooked breakfast, and a delightful host in Olivier.
Highly recommended.
