Very welcoming atmosphere - Dominique and Ray were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Appreciated the useful information on the next day’s walk, and enjoyed the meal which included fresh vegetables from the garden, was accompanied by home-baked bread, and followed by delicious homemade ice-cream. The garden shower was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay there again.
Ray and Dominique are both so welcoming and warm! They are absolutely terrific hosts and provide such a wonderful atmosphere for relaxing after a long days walk. Their place is super comfortable, extremely clean, and the communal dinner is a treat to foster building friendships with other pilgrims. I would strongly encourage others to stay at Casa Banderas on their travels along the Camino Frances!
Had such a wonderful stay! Warm and welcoming, wholesome home cooked food (real roast chicken, home made bread, delicious soup), and lovely hosts. The courtyard was sunny and breezy, the outdoor shower was fresh while still private, and the beers were cold and wine generously poured. Also got some very handy tips from the host Ray about the trail and some awesome Celtic ruins. His wife, Dominique, made me feel quite homesick for the USA for first time in Ages and was sweet enough to remember my mini-pack of Oreos for a trail snack. 100% recommend and will return ❤️❤️❤️
Such a lovely place to stay in while traveling the Camino. Ray and Dominique are amazing hosts we had a great dinner together. Personally I think it was also a great way to get some peace and quite because most of the people are staying in Porto Marin. Very cosy, felt like home. Thank you 🇺🇸🇮🇱🇬🇧🇪🇸
The best alburgue on my whole camino! Incredibly kind owners who are eager to share the history of the place they live, and offer great suggestions for the rest of the trip. The dinner was fantastic, and for the rest of the walk I continued to run into the pilgrims I ate with that night. We were bonded by the traditions they shared and atmosphere they created. Also they have chocolate brownie mix imported from the States and homemade ice cream. And at check in they give you a giant snacking platter to hold you over with produce fresh from their backyard! Also the cheapest beer on the way for 1€ in a beautiful garden! Just doesn’t get better than this, and I’ve stayed in a lot of smaller places the past few weeks. Skip the crowds in Portomarin and please stay here instead, and have the best sleep of the way :)
