Sonia was very welcoming and accommodating, and communicative. The room, bathroom and showers were clean and what’s not to like about an albergue that provides proper sheets (not paper ones)?! The menu provided several options, including several veggie ones (and I think vegan too) plus “a drink” (which included beer and soft drinks, not just water and wine).
Sonia and the staff at Don Camino are incredibly caring and truly supportive of Pilgrims!! The food is grand the service perfect! I was sick and she made me special soup to take back to my other Abergue. Thank you to another Camino Angel!!
First course: Hummus Second course: Steamed Vegetables Dessert: Apple I enjoyed the set dinner here, it was healthy, simple and delicious. For the second course, the staff kindly offered to make the special dish of steamed vegetables for me as I am vegetarian. The serving time was longer than expected but the overall dining experience was excellent.
GO ELSEWHERE!! A dreadfull alburgue "run" by a totally dysfunctional couple. We were exposed to a major domestic dispute between them all afternoon whereby they took thier drama out on guests! Refused to provid hot water for our herb teas after offering payment...€16 for sub standard 2 star food prepared in the midst of the drama...oh, dear.
I reserved a room at this alburgue the morning of, and when I arrived a man started yelling at me to get out and said they were closed. I tried to say I had a reservation and he shut the door in my face. When I remembered a second later that I had shipped my bag there and needed to pick it up, he refused to open the door for me until I started yelling that he had my bag. With no apology, he waved his hand at a door a half a block away and shut the door in my face again. Found the bag, and only posting this to warn other pilgrims away (though, I expect he will post a nasty reply as he did on the other reviews on google I read about several other people having a similar experience). I only wish I had seen them before!
