Albergue de Peregrinos Municipal de "Villadangos del Páramo"

Some unfair comments pulled down the average mark of this wonderful albergue. The place is clean and well managed by a group of caring volunteers. I read in somewhere that it was rebuilt from an "old school". Actually the foundation was a historic school and modernly renovated. One of the most impressive parts is every bed has its own lamp and socket!

The Albergue has 2 bunk beds in each cubicle room. It was nice to have fresh lemon water on arrival. The welcoming was excellent. It is right on the Camino. We were provided with sheet and pillow case. The grass out the front of the property is well maintained so you can lie outdoors, if the weather is good. A number of pilgrims did seek shade under the trees for 30-40mins and then continued on. I highly recommend you stay. The bathroom is fine. There is a fee entrance to the local swimming pool. A small but well stocked supermarket is only 5 mins walk away so you can prepare a meal if you are not going to the restaurant. The kitchen is great and extremely well equipped with a lot of pots, pans , stove top, microwave and even vinegar and oil for cooking! There is fresh fruit, tea and coffee available , just add to the donation 👍

I really liked the Albergue. It’s donativo. The hospateros were really nice and helpful. Everything was clean and the kitchen is really well-equipped.

Very pleasantly received by a volunteer. Pilgrims are not stacked on top of each other, but moved to other rooms, as long as there is space. No communal meal. you can cook. There is a supermarket in the village, a 200m walk away. It is on a free donation basis.
