Albergue is good and is has kitchen also (with everything you need). I saw some comments saying the kitchen is not good but that's not true. Pots, pans, plates, etc. Friendly staff, and it costs you 10€. What else you can ask for?
Rude staff, got angry for no apparent reason. Showers don't lock, bathroom doors don't shut. If someone washes their hands the hot water in the shower turns off
AVOID. After I paid the guy came and told me I didn't pay and kept demanding money, then telling me to get lost. My friend thankfully saw me pay so he walked away stroppy. The beds are also poor and it's quite far away from town. The prices advertised aren't updated either, it's currently €10 Euros not €8. Awful service, worst I've had, as if after 4 weeks of walking I wouldn't pay for my stay? The council should look into these guys.
Dirty bathroom and laundry area. Bunks and mattresses fixed with duct tape. Facilities in disrepair - mould and old plasters in the showers and none of the showers has locks. Hospitaleros were very disinterested, unhelpful and unfriendly. Locked themselves away and didn’t move all afternoon. Spending all their time watching videos on their phone.
One of the worst experience on Camino. 1. Albergue located out of the city on a high hill. Villafranca is an amazing town with a lot of places to visit, just book smth in the town and enjoy it. That hike down & up the hill every time you need to go out is awful. 2. The rudest, non-respectful, and irresponsible hospitalieros I’ve ever seen. They arrived late and opened albergue late. Didn’t even say hi to pilgrims. They job looks like just take money from you — didn’t show or explain anything. After they checked in ppl, they stay a bit in their room and left. Didn’t come even to close albergue in the evening, didn’t leave their phone numbers. 3. There are no lockers at all, not on the main door (you’ll sleep with open doors), not in rooms. There were no lockers even in showers and toilets! You have to do you things in a toilet and keep the door closed in case anyone could open it. Very weird!
