I wrote this review after arriving in Santiago and having stayed at several hostels. I can safely say that this was one of the best and most welcoming hostels I have stayed at on the Camino de Santiago. The hospitality of the couple Ana and Javier is fabulous. They are kind and attentive to all pilgrims. The dinner shared with other pilgrims was simply the best I had on the entire Camino. An unforgettable evening. The food was homemade, but very rich and prepared with great care and love. At the end of the dinner, we applauded Mrs. Ana for her gift for cooking.
A beautiful and very clean Auberge, run by Javier and his wife, the best hosts you can imagine. This is a place where you can feel the spirit of the Camino. We had a very tasty community dinner, and a good night sleep. It felt almost like home. Thank you for providing this Refugio, and for the warm hospitality.
It is located right next to the pilgrimage route, so it is easy to find and a good place to start the next day. They were really friendly and everything was clean. The food was unique and delicious. Thank you. :)
What a wonderful surprise after walking 27 km on the Camino. Javier was a perfect host and the accomodations were great. Lots of water pressure and hot water to wash away the grime, laundry hanging from the balcony, and excellent provisions from the little supermarket. I highly recommend this Alburgue.
A very nice off the official stage place to stay. I recommend taking the dinner, it’s home cooked and the host is so nice and taking care of everyone. I got to try a traditional basque dessert that i would not have come across otherwise. The view is great and by this stage of the Camino you’re kind of used to church bells. 😁 If weather and energy allows take a hike up the top of the hill either via walking path or the car road that goes up the mountain (will be an easier route), on a clear day the view was amazing and totally worth it.
