Casa Rural Montedeio is a family-run, very small hostel (3 rooms) on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, housed in an old, nicely renovated house and mostly catering for the Santiago-bound pilgrims. The room we were given was basic but fairly clean and with a nice bathroom. The dinner, arranged as a communal table with the host family, was socially engaging but the quality and quantity of food was disappointing, with no choice and only vegetarian dishes. The breakfast was slightly better but again the quantity of available food was very limited. The hosts were pleasant but the timings of the meals were very strict.
We had a great stay at the casa rural Montedeio. We were planning on staying 2 days, but ended up staying a whole week. Great hosts, very tasty home-made dinners enjoyed together with pelgrims. Nice and quiet rooms, located in a lovely small village with stunning views. Within a 30 minute drive there were many opportunities for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The hosts provided us with great suggestions. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back someday.
Lovely room in beautifully decorated very old home. Hot shower. Comfortable bed. Quaint village. Delicious home-cooked three course dinner around communal Peregrino table with hosts Betty, Burt and their daughters. All in all a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Betty went over and above the call of duty by having our baggage delivered to our next accommodation.
This is the best place to stay!! The owners are super lovely 💘. Dinner was amazing 👏 😋 We will never forget your kindness. C U in 10 years :)
Great place to stop along the Camino. Super friendly hosts in a historic and beautifully maintained house. Oh and the family dinner was incredible after a long day hiking, don’t miss it!
