From the moment we arrived Mariaje was welcoming and kind. Her hospitality, thoughtfulness and warmth were above and. beyond- she has thought of everything! She welcomed us and we genuinely felt at home. My mother and I wish we could have stayed longer. thank you Mariaje- we hope to meet you again!
€9 for a bed in the dorm and then donativo for the dinner with the other pilgrims and some breakfast items. The hospitalera was kind and welcoming, the food delicious and filling. There is a covered garage space to store your bike (but unsecured unless you use your own lock). The only minor thing was no soap in the bathrooom but apart from that I would whole heartedly recommend this place to any pilgrims travelling through.
The worst experience in the whole Camino Frances. Food for donation actually has a price, the owner checked every time someone put money in the opened (!) box to see if there was enough money. We had to pay for each cup of tea. There is no need to pretend to be charitable, just make a price list, maybe then visitors will not feel so bad. The room is cold. It is impossible to turn on the light in the toilet so that it does not disturb others' sleep. The food was not good. Avoid it!
Maria made us feel most welcome and treated us like family.❤️ Her paella is worth every step from your previous destination!
Mariaje's place is fantastic. Albergue Parada Viloria offers the perfect respite after a long day of walking on the Camino de Santiago. Her place has a cozy, homey atmosphere and she goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable. We had a communal dinner replete with red wine and Mariaje's fresh cooked Paella. What a treat! After lots of food, conversation and a sunset walk we found our way to the comfy bunks upstairs where we all enjoyed a restful nights sleep. Most impressive was that it was a true donativo. Mariaje charges nothing and asks that you leave what you can in a donation box. This speaks to her immense faith in the kindness of strangers. Fantastic place! Fantastic human!
